Vasco-da-Gama also known as Murmugao is one of the important natural port city in India. Located at a distance of about 45 kms from Panaji, it set along the sea-side Goa with its old churches and beautiful homes.

Huge ships from China, Italy and Japan anchor here for importing manganese and iron-ore from Goa while huge tankers also anchor here to unload oil, gas and kerosene which are transported to different parts of India. The famous Mazgaon Dock Yard is located at Vasco.
Vasco is also famous for the annual Srawani Saptah held during the months of July/August.
