Monkey point, the highest point in Kasauli, commands an excellent view of the distant plains of Chandigarh and the Satluj river. A small temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, is situated on the top of the hill. According to the legend Lord Hanuman, after obtaining the Sanjivani Booty (Medical Herb), on his return from the Himalayas touched this hill with his foot, giving it's top the shape of a foot. On a clear and starry night the gorgeous view of Chandigarh can be seen from the Monkey Point.

The area is restricted due to security point of view. The Air Force are stationed here to take care of this area.
