Spectacular surroundings and sprawling complex lawns, in Rambagh Palace has made it one of the most beautiful and splended properties in asia.

The history of the palace takes us back in time, in the early 19 th century when Kesar -- lady administrator of the Zenana was gifted a piece of land outside the city near the small fortress of Moti Doongri, by the then queen mother, and build a beautiful garden house in the forested area. However after the death of Maharana Ram Singh II, the house was converted into a guest house-cum-hunting lodge. The new premises was named Rambagh after the ruler. Maharaja Man singh, the adopted son of Maharaja Madho Singh who in turn was the adopted son of maharaja Ram singh, lived in Rambagh with his 3 maharanis and 5 children till the palce was converted into luxury hotels.

Since 1972, the completely renovated palace is managed by the Taj Group. The palace is said to be the only private residence in the whole world with it's own polo field, it also has a spectacular swimming pool.
