This institution is housed in a 300-year old palace. Dedicated to Gandhiji, it promotes study and appreciation of Mahatma's teachings. There is a picture gallery, personal memorabilia of the Mahatma, a library and an exhibition of the south Indian handicrafts and village industries.
It gives a clear account of the history of Independence movement of India. This museum also tells some little known facts about Gandhiji but the real piece of Gandhi memorabilia is the blood stained Dhoti which he was wearing at the time of his assasination. The Govt. Museum is also in this complex. The small book shop offers plenty of reading material from Gandhiji's works. |
