The memorial of immortal Tamil poet-saint Thiruvallur is located at Nungambakkam. The shrine is a replica of the chariot temple of Thiruarur. A life size statue, 39 mt tall, has been installed on the chariot. The 133 chapters of his framework "Thirukkural" have been depicted in bas-relief in the front hall corridors of the chariot. It also has an auditorium which can accommodate 4000 people at a time and is the largest in Asia.
